この呪文のような言葉が何か、ご存知でしょうか。
中一は今、国語の授業で用言の活用を学習しています。
先ほどの、「こ き くる くる くれ こい」は、カ行変格活用、「来る」の活用を未然形から命令形まで順番に並べたものです。
他にも、上一段活用、サ行変格活用、形容詞、形容動詞など、用言の活用パターンはまだまだあります。
生徒たちは、論理的な思考力と暗記力とを使って、理解しようと一生懸命です。
クラスでリズムよく、大きな声で発声することで、少しでも、楽しく学んでほしいと思います。
口語文法は、中二から始まる古典の文語文法の基礎となります。
分からないところは、粘り強く友達や先生に質問して、身につけてもらいたいものです。
期末試験範囲表も、昨日配布されたことですし、土日を有効に使ってくださいね。
現在、茶道部では茶道で用いる茶器づくりにチャレンジしています。
まず最初に土をこね、茶器の土台（底）部分を作ります。
その後、残りの土を細長いひも状にして、土台（底）部分の淵に沿うように丁寧に
ぐるぐると這わせて、茶器の側面を作ります。
この時、側面がでこぼこにならないよう、よく手でなじませて形を整えます。
今日は、前回作った作品がある程度乾燥したので、へらを使い、更に形を整えていきます。
これで一段と茶器らしくなってきました。
茶器を一から作る、という経験を通し、生徒の中に普段使っている茶器に対する愛着が
生まれ、普段にも増して茶器を丁寧に扱い、そしてそれを作ってくれた職人の方々に対する
感謝の念が生まれればと思います。
今週の月曜日から、生徒会が主体となりユニセフ募金を募っています。
それに伴い、募金活動用のポスターを美術部員が制作しました。
ポスター制作を生徒会から依頼されたものの、あまり時間の余裕がない中、部員たちは
放課後遅くまで残り、ポスターを完成させました。
ポスターの中に何を描けばよいのか、最初はあまり分からない様子で、部員たちは
少々戸惑っていましたが、各自、ユニセフの活動、主に飢餓や災害に対するユニセフの
救援活動などを調べることから始まり、具体的なイメージを膨らませました。
また、寄付金が実際どのような支援になるのか、例えば日本円100円でどのような支援が
出来るのか、などを調べ、それらについて具体的に分かるようなポスターを作成しました。
その後、飢餓マップや世界の人々が助け合う様子を表わしたポスターなど、色々な種類の
ポスターを制作しました。
ポスターは校内の様々な所に掲示され、今日も募金活動を陰で支えています。
今日は国語の授業を少し覗いてみます。
今日の授業内容はスピーチ。「外国人のケア」がテーマとなっている新聞記事を読みながら、
各々自分の考えを一生懸命まとめていました。
たまに「これってどういうことが背景にあるの？」という声が上がり、隣近所で相談が始まり、果ては議論に発展することも。
このスピーチを通して、さまざまなテーマに触れ、友人の意見を聞き、普段の国語の授業だけでは得られないことを学んでいってほしいと思います。
He is humble and friendly, careing and hardworking. He is one teacher at AICJ that you might not know.
He is Krishna Somanah, and he has brought years of teaching experience and knowledge to the classroom
here at AICJ. For sixteen years, Krishna Somanah, who was born in Mauritius, has been an IB math and theory of knowledge teacher at
top schools around the world. He has now been teaching at AICJ for two years, and has become a favorite teacher
of many students. His theory of knowledge class has been teaching students to think more critically about what they
already know. It is a class that might challenge one's beliefs, and give justifications to what we claim to know.
Krishnah is an advocate for peace education, an avid soccer fan and loves to cook local Mauratian dishes.
The AICJ girls basketball team defeated HIS yesterday by a score of 33 to 14. Well done girls! The AICJ squad has come a long way since the last time that these two teams played, just two weeks ago. This time the AICJ girls were calm and collective which enabled them to make smart passes and good decisions when shooting. The girls were able to get the ball in close for easy shots and were able to out rebound a much taller HIS team.
All in all, everyone from both sides had fun enjoying some friendly competition and I'm sure that both sides are already looking forward to a rematch. Keep up the good work girls!
本日、今年度最後のＡＳＣが行われました。
ＡＳＣとは、中学１年生から高校２年生までが、混合の縦割りクラスを作り、
さまざまな問題について話し合う活動です。
この活動を通して、生徒たちには他学年の先輩や後輩と交流を深め、
また、意見を交換し合うことで、様々なものごとの見方考え方を学んでほしいと思います。
Last Wednesday we had an amazing music festival at Alsok Hall and I was very proud to see my homeroom class take out the
first prize for year 9 and also best overall performance for the whole school.
The reason I was so proud of them was that they had really practiced so hard for the last month. Every day before school and after school they were singing the song and they were so dedicated.
In our English class we translated the song into English from Japanese as a translation activity. This was a good experience for the students to see the many different ways that song lyrics can be translated and how that changes the mood of the song. Some of the students even tried singing the song in English. They did very well with this but they found it more difficult than they imagined.
When the result was decided for Jupiter 9, some of the students were crying with joy because they were so happy. Congratulations to all the Jupiter 9 students as well as all the AICJ students who either sang or performed at the Music Day.
2月１０日、ＡＬＳＯＫホールで音楽祭が開催されました。
午前は、アンサンブル・ソロ部門およびゲスト演奏の鑑賞、午後は、合唱コンクールです。
音楽祭はジャス部の演奏で幕を開け、オーディションを勝ち抜いた軽音部のバンド、ソロの演奏が続きます。今年のソロも、ギター演奏や弾き語り、ピアノなど様々。
普段の教室では見ることのできない仲間たちの素晴らしい演奏に、会場は大興奮でした。
今回の芸術鑑賞では光井安子先生をお招きし、チェンバロを演奏していただきました。
チェンバロは１５～１６世紀ごろに生まれた、ピアノのもとともいえる楽器ですが、作りも音色も全く異なります。
チェンバロの歴史やピアノとの違いなどを分かりやすく説明していただきながら、たくさんの曲を演奏してくださり、チェンバロの音色を堪能することができました。
午後からの合唱コンクールでは、それぞれのクラスが練習の成果を披露しました。
最後には、ＰＴＡのお母様方によるコーラスがあり、美しい歌声に魅了されました。
学年の終わりも近く、これまで様々な活動を通じて培ってきたクラスの団結力を見せるチャンスです。
中学生も高校生も良く頑張っていましたが、みな、上級生の合唱の素晴らしさに感動していました。
特に高校生は、音楽の授業を全員が選択していないにもかかわらず、
課外授業などの間を縫って練習した成果を出し切り、貫禄を見せていました。
順位がついてしまうので、泣き顔、笑い顔、様々な表情が見られましたが、
高校生徒会副会長のコメントにあったように、みんなそれぞれに「負けても得るものがあった」ようです。

本日は中学校入学説明会が行われました。
今春からAICJの一員となる生徒のみなさん、そして保護者の皆様がお越しくださいました。
生徒のみなさんは、やや緊張した面持ちで挨拶をしてくれるのが印象的でした。
入学式までまだ少し日にちがありますが、4月にみなさんとお会いできることをとても楽しみにしています。
最後になりましたが、本日はお寒い中、また、お忙しい中、保護者の皆様にはご足労いただきありがとうございました。
明日は中学校の入学説明会が開催されます。
今日は放課後に生徒たちがその準備を手伝ってくれました。
もうすぐ先輩たちになる準備でもあり、中には明日の説明会の日も手伝ってくれる予定の生徒もいます。
音楽祭への放課後練習や準備に加え、部活などで忙しい生徒たちですが、快く協力してくれる姿は頼もしいものです。
新しく入学してくる可愛い後輩の模範となれるような立派な先輩になってくださいね。
昼休憩には、生徒会執行部の会議があります。
今日も、生徒会長の司会のもと、積極的な話し合いが行われました。
今は、来週の水曜日に開かれる音楽祭と、3月の初めにある卒業式の準備に追われています。
昨年の12月に発足した第三期生徒会執行部員も、自ら考えて、積極的に行動する人たちばかりです。
学校を盛り上げ、生徒のみんなに喜んでもらうために、日々頑張っています。
２月に入り、各私立大学の入試が本格的に始まりました。
それに伴い高校３年生は２月から自由登校となっていますが多くの生徒が学校の自習室に来て、
各自の入試の日に向けて勉強に頑張っています。
センター試験でも学園生は優秀な成績を収めましたが難関私立大、国公立前期試験においても
きっと優秀な結果を出してくれることでしょう。
がんばれ！！高３生！！
