On November 7th AICJ's triathlon club took part in their fourth duathlon of the year. This time it was the 2010 Hiroshima Duathlon Championship held at Chuo Shinrin Koen. This duathlon began with a 3k run, followed by a 12.3k cycle, and finished with one more 3k run, all of which was very hilly.
Hikaru Hidaka and his strong running finished in 2nd place for junior high school boys. He did the first 3k in 12:55:94, the 12.3k cycle in 33:33:23, and the last 3k in 16:43:15, with a finishing time of 1:03:12:32. Hayato Murakawa in his debut also had a podium finish of 3rd place with a finishing time of 1:06:04:78. Of the four AICJ members, Takumi Kawamoto had the best cycling time at 31:25:29 and finished in 1:06:13:28. Yasushi started off with a strong run and a strong bike, but at about the 9k mark of the cycling course he let a monster of a hill get the best of him. However, he was able find a pocket of energy for the second run and finished strong at 1:06:40:23.
All in all it was a great day for our triathlon club and its members. These four seventh grade students truly accomplished something special. They exercised at race pace for over an hour! This is a feat that not many thirteen year olds can brag about. Well done boys! Let's keep up the good work, as the room for potential is huge.

トライアスロン部は今年度4回目として11月7日に中央森林公園で行われたデュアスロンヒロシマ2010チャンピオンシップに参加しました。
今回のコースは丘の多いコースで、3キロラン→12.3キロサイクル→3キロランを走り切るものでした。
日高くんは、中学男子で第2位という力強い走りを見せてくれました。
タイムは、最初の3キロを12：55：94、12.3キロサイクルを33：33：23、そしてラストの3キロを16：43：15で走り、全コースを1：03：12：32で完走しました。
また、今回が初挑戦となった村川君は、1：06：04：78のタイムで第3位を飾りました。
ＡＩＣＪから参加した4人のメンバーのうち、河本くんは、サイクルで31：25：29のベストタイムを打ち出し、1：06：13：28でコースを完走しました。
水戸川くんのスタートもまた力強い走りのランとバイクでした。サイクルの9キロ辺りの地点では、モンスターの顔を見せ始めたきつい丘によってペースダウンを余儀なくされたものの、残る力を振り絞って
第2ステージのランを走りぬき、1：06：40：23で完走しました。
大会は無事に終わり、トライアスロン部のメンバーにとってとても有意義な一日となりました。
参加した中学1年生の４人は本当に何か特別な素晴らしいことを成し遂げたと思います。
レースのペースで1時間以上も走り続け、見事にコースを完走しました。
13歳という年齢でこれほどのことを成し遂げて誇れる生徒はそう多くはいないはずです。
本当によくやりました。そして今後も計り知れない可能性があるはずです。引き続き頑張ってほしいものです。
