卒業式の予行練習 -
今日は卒業式の予行練習でした。今年は例年とは少し異なった流れを考えています。
生徒だけでなく教師も1つ1つ流れを確認しながら、練習を行いました。
高3にとって思い出に残る日となればよいかなと思います。

音楽祭 -
本日、AICJ音楽祭が国際会議場フェニックスホールで催されました。
午前中はゲストの 萩原 麻未 さんによる一流のピアノ演奏や本校が誇るジャズ部、ソロアンサンブル部門の鑑賞。
午後からは高校2年生にとっては最後の、中学1年生にとってははじめての各クラス対抗の合唱コンクールが行われました。
みなさん、多忙な中、必死で練習した成果を発表しました。
特に中1は大きな会場で緊張気味でしたが立派に歌いきることができ、自信をつけたと思います。

高校2年生 体育 -
体育の授業でバスケットボール、サッカーをしました。
ゲームを中心に行いましたが、チームで協力しながら楽しく取り組んでいました。
学年末試験まで1週間をきり勉強が忙しい中、いい気分転換になったと思います。

試験までまもなく1週間 -
3月3日から学年末試験が始まります。学年末試験は一年間の学習の成果が出る試験になります。
試験の結果は自分の努力をはかる一つの指標になるはずです。自分の頑張りが結果にあらわれるよう、最後まで努力しましょう。
試験が始まるころにはきっと桜のつぼみも膨らみはじめます。寒い冬を乗り越え、努力が実ることを期待しています。

音楽祭前日 -
音楽祭前日となりました。本日より明日の音楽祭に備え準備を行います。
JAZZ部、軽音部、放送部、生徒会役員の生徒が機材や必要物品を搬入し、準備をしていきます。
実は音楽祭で使用する音響機材は全てAICJ生徒会、JAZZ部、軽音部の自前です。
スピーカーなども全て自分達で設置し、機器の配線なども自分達で計画、実行していきます。
所定の時間内に搬入、セッティング、サウンドチェック、リハーサル等を行っていかなくてはなりません。
このような経験を積み重ねることによって、「自立」「貢献」の精神と、リーダーシップを養っていきます。

中学１年 技術分野（製作作業）の様子 -
技術・家庭科の目標である「生きる力」を身に付けるために，「創意・工夫」する能力の育成をめざしています。
道具を使う体験が少なくなってきている生徒に簡単な題材の製作を通してこの力を付けてもらいたいと願っています。

土曜自習室開放 -
学年末試験を、およそ10日後に控え、
多くの生徒が、土曜日にもかかわらず登校し、自習をしています。
写真は、中学生の教室です。
みんな集中して、勉強をしているようです。
この頑張りが、結果に結びついてくれるものと思います。
今度の定期試験が今年度最後です。
悔いの残らないようしっかりと準備をし、次年度へのステップとしてくれるといいですね。

Study Tips -
We are now two weeks away from the final exams. I hope you've started to prepare?
Here are a few tips to help...
1) Make a detailed study plan and WRITE IT DOWN!
2) Allow for some free time / play time in your plan.
3) Find a good study place - somewhere where there are no distractions but also has things you need nearby.
4) Get and stay organised. Keep your notes in folders/books. Use study time to help organise.
And finally... DO NOT LEAVE STUDYING UNTIL THE LAST DAY! You may pass your exams but you WILL forget everything for next year.

NZ語学研修壮行会 -
中学校の1・2年生約20名が今週、NZ語学研修に旅立ちます。
1時間目のLHRで、壮行会が催され、各々スピーチで、成長して帰ってくることを力強く誓いました。
語学力を鍛えるだけではなく、異文化理解を深め、様々な経験を得て、4月に彼らが元気に帰ってくるのを心待ちにしたいと思います。

音楽祭まであと3日 -
音楽祭まであと3日となりました。
明日は祝日で学校はお休みのため、本番まで今日と木曜日しかありません。
各クラス、優勝を目指して、最終調整に熱が入っているようでした。
昨日は学年を超えてのステージ練習も体育館で行いました。
広い場所での練習や他クラスの合唱を聴くことによって、教室での練習とはまた違った課題が見つかったことと思います。
音楽祭で生徒全員が精一杯のパフォーマンスをしてくれることを願っています。

Video Presentations - 7AI English students recently completed their most complex presentation to date! Already faced with the daunting task of researching a topic and presenting about it in front of the class, this time students were given an added twist: find and present videos that supported their topic! Students were required to find at least two online videos that supported their research on animal behavior and present them to the class by embedding them inside of their PowerPoint. They then had to run the video with the sound off in the background to add a visual component to their presentation. Furthermore, most of the research that was done came from the videos itself, so students really needed to listen carefully and relay the video's message in their own words! It was very hard, but 7AI did a great job and gained valuable presentation experience all the while learning about dolphins, snakes, dogs, cats, monkeys, orangutans, birds, polar bears, and even alpacas!

音楽祭まであと1週間！ -
2月13日に、広島国際会議場のフェニックスホールにてAICJ音楽祭が開催されます。
そのため、日々クラスで歌の練習をしています。朝や放課後、時には昼休憩を利用してクラス全体で練習に熱が入っています。
今年はどのクラスが優勝するのでしょうか？
とても楽しみです。

It's Crunch Time! -
Do you know what "crunch time" means? It means the time that we really need to do our best! With only a month left before final exams, you need to really get serious in your studies.
There is no better feeling in the world than doing your best and then seeing your amazing results.
Conversely, there is no worse feeling in the world than regret. Regret is the feeling that you could have done something different or better.
So- it's up to you! Do you want to feel great or feel terrible?
I'm sure that is an easy answer- you want to feel great!
So starting today and for the whole month of February, you will be a study machine!
In fact, why are you even still reading this??

AICJ's Science Exploration - Recently, AICJ’s science exploration has been expanding at a rapid rate. We have both state and international collaborations allowing the students to conduct scientific research at the highest level. For example, projects like the Miyajima tree survey and the tissue engineering projects at the Queensland University of Technology have given our students insights into latest technologies and expertise available to university-level researchers. Additionally, these opportunities have also given the students the chance to present their work at a national level. Indeed, last December one of our student's projects received a major prize at a national student conference from Azabu University. The future of AICJ science is an exciting one and we are looking forward to expanding the research opportunities for AICJ's students.

鬼にも負けない合唱練習 -
本日2月3日は節分の日です。
各学年、各クラスではもちろん「豆まき」がおこなわれる！と思いきや・・・
放課後の教室をのぞいてみると、「おには～そと！」ではなく……。
なんと、各教室では合唱祭で発表するうたの練習がおこなわれていました。
約一週間後に控えた合唱祭のため、課外前や部活の練習前にも関わらず男女が集まり、指揮者を中心に意見を言い合い、互いを助け合い、教えあう姿がありました。
そして教室にとどまらず、廊下にまで聞こえる大きな歌声は、豆よりも、学校に寄り付く鬼退治になるのではないか。そんな生徒たちの放課後を、本日はお送りさせていただきました。

2/2（月）行事＆授業 -
本日から2月ということで、今日は全校集会から始まりました。
今日は2月13日（金）に行われる、音楽祭の説明及び、各学年の歌う順番を決定するという、大切な決め事がありました。
本番に向けて、各クラス精一杯頑張ってほしいと思います。
また、授業についてです。これらの写真は、高校1年生の書道選択生による「砂絵」の授業です。皆、思い思いの言葉、色で表現していました。大変見応えのある大作が完成しました。その他の学年にも是非披露していこうと思います。
学業に、行事に、何事も全力で取り組む姿勢をこれからもより大切にしていってほしいと思います。
