Leap day snows - Today is the last day of classes before graduation and final exams. It has started snowing this evening, so we are all worried that graduation will be cold and snowy! Grade 11 and 12 students, please take care not to slip or catch a cold tomorrow! All other students should stay home and keep warm studying.

Only a week to go... - With only a week left, graduating students move closer to the end of their time at AICJ as all other students prepare to demonstrate the knowledge they have acquired on the forthcoming exams. Students should take care to remember the importance of finishing the year strong so they can sprint, rather than crawl, across the finish line. If you work hard until the very end, good things will happen and you will not have any regrets.

食堂リニューアルオープン！ -
２月から食堂が再開されました。
メニュー内容も進化し、オムライスやトルコライスなど新たなメニューも加わっています。生徒たちも早速足を運んでいるようで、「唐揚げが美味しい！」「オムライスが美味しかった！」と様々な声を聞かせてくれています。とある先生によると、うどんがオススメ！との事。新たなAICJの名物が何になるのでしょうか？！乞うご期待です。

Classroom projects -
In Eng.7AI, we are working on a creative writing assignment and challenging English Shiritori. They will use some new information about plots to create an engaging story.
Eng.8B is presenting their futuristic products and having a listening quiz. After this lesson, we start a new unit and a large project, where they will make a short tv program.
Eng. 9E is preparing and turning in their poster about an endangered species. Afterwards, they will make a speech about animal photography and learn about inventors.

Eng. 7AI essays were very interesting and fun to read. Also, their vocabulary is quite impressive during the shiritori game.
Eng. 8B presented nicely, but I gave them some advice on how to better sell a product. They did a great job with the quiz and listening game.
Eng. 9E showed a range of posters. Some of them were very beautiful and informative. Everyone worked hard on it.

音楽祭 -
本校の音楽祭は学校ではなく、ホール等をお借りして毎年行っております。
今年は広島国際会議場フェニックスホールで行われました。
生徒たちは今日のこの本番に向けて、ソロ＆アンサンブルや、合唱の練習を行ってきました。音楽祭の前の２週間ほどは、朝や昼休み、放課後にいろいろなところから歌声が聞こえていました。
そんな練習の成果を出すべくステージに上がる生徒の顔は、やる気と緊張が見て取れました。そして、自分のステージが終わった後は達成感に満ちあふれていたと思います。
コンペティションである以上、楽しさや嬉しさだけではなく、歯がゆさや悔しさを感じることもあると思います。その全てを良い経験にしてもらえているといいなと思います。

音楽祭の前日準備 -
音楽祭前日は、翌日の本番に備え会場で仕込みを行います。
学校で機材を搬出した後、会館時刻に搬入作業を行い
ステージ上では照明の当たる場所の調整、山台と呼ばれる壇の組み付け、音響機材や楽器のセッティング、マイクテスト、リハーサルという順序で準備が行われる他、
ステージ袖、楽屋、本部、受付の設営なども並行して行います。仕込みは時間との戦いです。
放送部、ESS部は短時間でマイクチェックを兼ねて自分達で作った原稿の最終確認をします。
音楽系クラブの生徒は予定時間をオーバーしないようこの仕込みさえも練習し、この前日準備に臨んでいます。
全てはたった一度の最高のパフォーマンスの為に。

体育授業風景 -
冬の寒い季節は、中学生も高校生も体育では縄跳びの授業をしています。
回数や点数を記録しているため、友達や先輩・後輩の記録と競いながら行っており、自分の記録が更新できた時には、とても嬉しそうに報告に来てくれます。
納得のいく記録が出せるように頑張りましょう。

The quiet before the storm - With music day a massive success, and all the students riding the wave of excitment from it, it is time to buckle down, and start preparing for the end of term exams. These are not just regular end of term exams though, they are also the end of year exams, and students are preparing especially hard to make sure their places in next years classes are achieved. The teachers too are hard at work preparing exams to test and challenge their students on all aspects of their studies over the past academic year. So a hearty well done to all the students for a spectacular music day and some firm advise to prepare diligently for the exams to come. Good luck to all our students

音楽祭に向けての準備説明 -
本日の全校集会で、全校生徒に向けて音楽祭についての説明がありました。
場所、入場経路、待機場所、パフォーマンスをするまでに通る経路、パフォーマンスに向かうタイミング、
昼食場所、会場を使用するにあたっての注意、下校時の注意……
当日の運営をスムーズにするための準備説明です。
タイトなスケジュールですが、それがスムーズにこなせるように、
生徒会をはじめとして多くの方の協力をいただきます。
生徒のみなさん、実りある音楽祭にしましょう！
そのためにも、限りある練習時間をまずは実らせましょう。
